Tips for Staying Cool Outside
đ„” Itâs hot outside! This isnât just âsummer heatâ. Itâs a serious heat wave. And itâs getting worse. Extreme heat is now the #1 weather-related killer in the U.S. But most safety messages? Not made for our deaf communities.
At DeafHealth, weâre making heat safety announcements visual, accessible, easy to understand, and Deaf-centered because everyone deserves to understand how to protect themselves.

Transcript: Phew! Are you hot? Me too! Here are five tips to stay safe during this heatwave!
Drink a lot of water. Keep your body cool by using AC, fans, and cool showers. Do activities like walking or running before or after peak heat hours, which are from noon to 4 PM. Check on elders, children and pets. Dizzy? Cramps? Nausea? Hold on. Your body is telling you something. Cool down and rest.Â
