DeafHealth has a vision. But, how do we get there? We need to tell our stories. We recognize the power of storytelling. It promotes empathy, spreads awareness, and sparks conversation, which is so important to be able to enact change. But, sharing our personal health stories is hard. Healthcare is personal, and our community is small. IUDs, testosterone shots, birth control, bipolar, eating disorders...all of these topics are tough to talk about. And to talk about our health issues with our neighbors, and our community members...that can be so overwhelming. But we know that starting that conversation is also important. So, what do we do? We, DeafHealth, will lead by sharing our personal health stories. We invite you to join us by watching, liking, commenting, or sharing. And maybe someday, you share your story. [The screen fades to show a thumbnail of a faded white background of a doctor holding hands with another individual] Deaf. Healthy. DeafHealth.
